Battle of the Maysa Round II

Oct 31, 2016

Minot, ND – The Minot Minotauros and Minot State Beavers will meet on the ice for the second year in a row.  This year’s game is set for December 6th, 2016 in the New Maysa Arena.  The Minotauros won the first meeting last January by a final score of 6-3.  The Minotauros will be giving their portion of the proceeds to the Minot Hockey Boosters as part of their ongoing partnership agreement, the Beavers will be donating a portion of their share to the Boosters as well.

The game comes as the Beavers are ranked number one in the ACHA and the Tauros sit in first place in the NAHL Central.  Tauros head coach Marty Murray said “we’re looking forward to this year’s game with MSU.  I thought last season’s game was very competitive and made for an entertaining evening for both of our fan bases.”  Wade Regier head coach of Minot State echoed Murray’s enthusiasm, “we are excited to once again play our arena brothers, this time in the New Maysa.  Last year was a win-win for everyone involved and this year we’re excited to support the Minot Hockey Boosters with this year’s game.”  Tauros’ veteran forward Chase Springman, who had two goals in last year’s game, said “it’s a great game for the community and it is fun to bring the entire Minot hockey community under one roof for the night.”

Tickets for the game will be available through the Minotauros website www.minotauroshockey.com starting on Monday November 7th.  Adult tickets will be $20 and children 6-12 are $15, children five and under are free (but not guaranteed a seat see the New Maysa Arena Ticketing Policy).  The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for the 7:00 p.m. puck drop.
