Minot, ND – The Minotauros are proud to announce that alum Zack Bross has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Massachusetts – Boston.  Bross played for the Minotauros for two season during which he compiled 71 points on 27 goals and 44 assists.

Bross sited several reasons why he chose UMass – Boston, “I love the Boston area and the school and team seem like a great fit for me.  The coach was always awesome to talk to and seemed really excited when I made my decision to go there.”

Tauros Head Coach Marty Murray praised Bross saying, “Zack was a solid two-year guy for us.  He rounded out his game and became a very good two way player.  He is a player that you can feel comfortable as a coach to put on the ice in any situation.”

Bross was appreciative of his time in Minot saying “I loved Minot. It was an incredible growing experience going from the fourth line my first year to being a captain and leader my second year.  I loved the guys and will always look back at being a Tauro as the best job I ever had.”  Bross was also quick to thank those that made Minot so memorable, “I’d like to thank my billets. I had two incredible billet families in the Buckmier’s and the Bradley’s. They made my time in Minot so much better than I had originally expected.  Also all the guys were great. Spending all day everyday together with a group it made I never imagined being part of such a close group. Also Nigel, Marty, Waz and the rest of the staff were so incredible at making it such a fun and professional organization.”

Bross’s 71 points are good for sixth all-time in franchise history and his +39 rating is second all-time among Tauros behind only Jake Dittel’s +51.  The Tauro forward also added a goal and three assists in eight playoff games as a Tauro.  Bross also represented the Tauros at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament where he scored a goal.

Bross becomes the fifth NCAA DIII commitment and ninth Tauro overall to commit to college this season.
