Minot, ND – The Minot Minotauros will be sending five representatives to the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament the league’s All-Star event.  Christian Mohs, Austin Martinsen, and James LaDouce will play for the NAHL Central Division’s team, Derek Frentz will play for the East Division’s squad, and Marty Murray will be the Head Coach of the NAHL Selects team. 

Christian Mohs will be making his second appearance at the Top Prospects Tournament.  Last season he had a goal on four shots and a +1 rating for Team Central.  Mohs is the Tauros all-time leading scorer with 29 goals and 54 assists for 83 points in 97 games. 

Austin Martinsen will be making his first trip to Top Prospects, he is second on the team with 13 goals.  His 19.4% shooting percentage ranks 17th in the league.  The ’97 born rookie also has eight assists this season.

James LaDouce also will be making his first appearance at Top Prospects.  His 22 points rank 7th among NAHL defensemen while both his 5 goals and 17 assists rank 8th.  His three game winning goals are tied for the team lead and are the most by any defensemen in the league. 

Derek Frentz will play for Team East in his first appearance at Top Prospects.  Frentz has 10 goals and 12 assists in second year in the NAHL.  Frentz played last season for the Michigan Warriors where he had 23 points for the now defunct franchise. 

Marty Murray will be making his second trip to Top Prospects as the head coach of a club.  He is in his fourth full season as Tauros head coach.  Murray captained the 1995 Canadian World Junior team to gold and followed that with a 14 year professional career that included 261 games in the NHL.

The Top Prospects Tournament will take place in Plymouth, Michigan and will feature teams from each of the NAHL’s four divisions, an NAHL Selects team comprised primarily of players selected by NHL Central Scouting, and the USNTDP U17 team.  For more info on the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament go to NAHL.com.
