Minot, ND – For the second night in a row the Minotauros went into the first intermission locked in a 0-0 tie with a visitor; and just like the night before the Tauros scored twice in the second to pull away from their opponent.   After a 5-0 drubbing of the rival Bismarck Bobcats with the last place Brooking Blizzard in town and the Christmas break looming it would have been easy for the Tauros players to lose focus.  Instead a dominating effort sees the Tauros head into the break atop the Central Division.

John Snodgrass opened the scoring 3:44 into the second period when he got loose on a breakaway and beat Ryan Kubic just under the crossbar.  Johnny Walker followed that up with the eventual game winner on a shot from the high slot that beat Kubic five hole to give the Tauros a 2-0 lead.  The goal was Walker’s 13th of the season and tied the Minotauros franchise record for goals in a season held by Tim Donohue and Jake O’Borsky from the 2012/13 season.  In the third Alex Copa’s floater became the only blemish on Tanner Holmes’s record.

The 2-1 win was the Tauors 20th of the season and keeps the team in first place heading into the Christmas break.  The Tauros next game is on New Years Eve in Bismarck, followed by a pair of home games against the Aberdeen Wings on January 2nd and 3rd.
