Minot, ND – There is no love lost between the Minotauros and Bobcats, and it is doubtful any new love will be found tonight as the two clubs meet at the Maysa.  The teams have combined for 436 penalty minutes over the eight meetings to this point in the season, or roughly one third of their combined penalty minutes despite meeting in less than a fifth of their games.

The Bobcats will most likely already be in a bad mood as they enter the Maysa having dropped a 3-2 decision to Aberdeen last night in Bismarck.  Leading scorer Cullen Willox (18g 24a) provided both Bobcats’ goals and Hunter Shepard (2.62gaa .906sv%) stopped 24 shots but it was not enough for the Bobcats to get a win.  Evan Giesler (24g 16a) leads the Bobcats in goals and has five against the Tauros on the season.  Missing from the Capital Kitties lineup will be JM Piotrowski (13g 8a) who is now with the USHL’s Sioux Falls Stampede.   Piotrowski had been a thorn in the side of the Tauros with two goals, three assists, and 39 penalty minutes against the Tauros on the season.

Christian Mohs (14g 30a) and Blake Lizotte (12g 34a) have tortured Bismarck on the season with a combined seven goals and 17 assists in the eight meetings.  Along with Mohs; Jon Lizotte (10g 21a), Chase Springman (11g 16a), and John Snodgrass (10g 11a) each have four goals against the Bobcats.  Perhaps the most impressive stat is that every forward currently on the Tauros roster has at least a goal against the Bobcats with one exception, Mitch Snyder, who just joined the club last week and has yet to face Bismarck.  In net Atte Tolvanen (2.15gaa .915sv%) is 4-1-1 against the Cats while Tanner Holmes (2.37gaa .896sv%) is 1-1-0; both goaltenders have shutout Bismarck this season.

Bring your Valentine to tonight’s game, tickets will be two for the price of one when bought at the door.  Also 8 oz. Coors Light cans will be two for $3.00.  Fans unable to come to the Maysa can watch the game on fasthockey.com.
