Minot, ND – The newest member of the NAHL Central Division, the Minnesota Magicians come to Minot for a weekend set starting tonight at the Maysa Arena.  After a busy stretch that saw five league games and the exhibition battle of the Maysa in an 11-day span after the NAHL Christmas break the Tauros were finally able to settle into the normal routine with four practice days leading into the weekend series.  This will be the Magicians second visit to Minot but first as members of the Central.

The Magicians come to Minot sitting in fifth place in the Central, five points behind Brookings for the division’s final playoff spot.  A couple of familiar faces return with them Owen Larson (5g 6a) and Jacob Gammicchia (1g 3a) both played for the Tauros before being traded to Minnesota in two separate deals.  Casey Jerry (11g 14a) leads the Magicians in scoring with 25 points on the season.  Brady Heppner (7g 9a) had three goals and an assist against the Tauros earlier this season when the Magicians swept the Tauros in Richfield, MN.  Will Ulrich has played 23 of the Magicians 33 games posting a 10-9-2 record with a 2.81 GAA and .917 SV%. 

For the Tauros Johnny Walker (15g 17a) still leads the club in scoring with 32 points on the season; however with 12 points over the last 10 games Christian Mohs (9g 19a) has passed Walker for the all-time franchise point lead with 79 career points as a Tauro.  Also on a hot streak of late with three goals and an assist over the last five games Chase Springman (10g 10a) has moved into sixth all time with 51 career points as a Tauro.  In net Lucas Murray (10-9-1 2.77 GAA .890 SV%) and Jon Flakne (6-6-2 2.81 GAA .892 SV%) have continued to split time. 

This weekend kicks off a series of four games with the Magicians, two in Minot this weekend followed by two in Minnesota next Friday and Saturday.  After that the Tauros will have four in a row with last place Aberdeen starting with two in South Dakota followed by a return to the Maysa on February 5th and 6th.  Tickets for this weekends games and all remaining home games are available by clicking the Tickets tab atop this page.  Also, get season tickets for the 14 remaining home games for the prorated price of $135 for adults, $112.50 for military/seniors/students, and $85 for children; season ticket come with a reserved seat for the rest of the regular season and playoffs!  Call (701)852-0101 or click here for more info.
