Minot, ND – As the Minotauros seventh season draws near it is time to start meeting the players who hope to head to the NAHL Showcase after training camp.  Camp opened September 3rd and the pre-season opens tomorrow night against the Bismarck Bobcats at the Maysa Arena at 7:35.  We continue meeting the team with forward Keenan Lund.

Lund comes to the Tauros from Sartell-St. Stephen High School in Minnesota by way of the Granite City Lumberjacks.  In three years of varsity for Sartell, where he was a teammate of former Tauro Spencer Zwiener, Lund played 62 games posting 73 points on 33 goals and 40 assists.  After finishing at Sartell Lund went on to play in the NA3HL for the Lumberjacks where he won a Silver Cup posting 19 goals and 15 assists in 45 regular season games and added 5 goals and 2 assist in 10 playoff games on the way to winning the NA3HL title.

Lund described his game, “I play fast and forecheck hard to create turnovers and scoring opportunities.”  Tauros Head Coach and General Manager Marty Murray said, “Keenan has attended our camps over the last couple of years and we have really noticed a nice progression to his game. He skates very well and is a player that can make plays and bring a lot of energy to the table.”

Lund is looking forward to “playing at the Maysa and in front of the Tauros fan base.”  He said his goals this season are “to work hard every day and be a consistent, reliable forward come game time.”  His team first mentality is the type that comes from championship experience and that is not lost on Murray, “Keenan won a championship playing in Granite City last year and that is always appealing to a coach.”

Come back Sunday when we will meet defenseman Brendan Mark.  Do not miss your chance to see Lund and all of the Tauros in game action for tomorrow night at 7:35 at the Maysa Arena when the Bismarck Bobcats come to Minot to open the pre-season.  Tickets will be $5.00 at the door and season ticket holders get in for free.
