Bismarck, ND – The Minotauros only lead for two tenths of a second on Friday night but they were the most important two tenths of game as the Tauros walked out of a stunned VFW Sports Center with two points (box score).  Christian Mohs (15g 26a) scored the game winning goal at 19:59.8 of the third period (highlight) and grabbed a share of first place in the NAHL Central Division for the Tauros.

The Bobcats opened the scoring just 4:38 into the game when Jared Pike (18g 14a) scored his ninth goal of the season against the Tauros (highlight).  After a Grayson Gavin fight win (highlight) swung the momentum in the Tauros’ favor  Derek Frentz (14g 16a) drew them even when he scored on the rush (highlight) for his sixth of the season against the Bobcats.

The game would remain tied until the middle of the third period when Nick Alexander (9g 5a) scored on a long shot through traffic (highlight) that Gunner Rivers (5-1-2) never got a look at.  However just as they did after the Bobcats scored in the first the Tauros stuck back quickly.  Joe Nathe (5g 14a) scored his first goal as a Tauro on a similarly long shot (highlight) that deflected off of a defender and in.

All of that however set the stage for one of the most dramatic goals in Tuaro history.  Zack Bross (10g 18a) won a battle along the boards and moved the puck to James LaDouce (9g 21a) at the point.  LaDouce fired a shot on goal creating a rebound that Mohs tapped in just before the final horn.

Next up for the Tauros is a Tuesday night match-up with the Aberdeen Wings.  The Tauros hold a 7-2-2 record against the Wings going into the clubs’ final meeting of the regular season.  The meeting potentially is a first round playoff preview as the Tauros sit tied in first place and the Wings hold the fourth and final playoff spot in the division by a point over both the Minnesota Magicians and Brookings Blizzard.  Tickets for Tuesday night’s game are available by clicking the “Tickets” tab atop this page.  Season ticket holders who have unused tickets from other games are welcome to exchange those tickets for extra tickets to Tuesday’s game as well.
