Feb 19, 2016

Minot, ND – The Minot Minotauros all-time leading scorer Christian Mohs has committed to pay his college hockey for NCAA DI Miami University.

Mohs, who is in his second season with the Minotauros, has 87 career points on 31 goals and 56 assists.  His 20 power play assists, 26 power play points, three shorthanded goals, five shorthanded points, and +29 rating, are all also franchise standards for the Andover, MN, native.

Minotauros Head Coach Marty Murray could not have been happier for the oft-overshadowed Tauros forward, “this is a very good day, we’re really happy for Mohs. There have not been a lot of guys in our league who have had his kind of production over the last two seasons.”

Mohs becomes the second Minotauro this season to commit to Miami along with Captain Jared Brandt who committed in December.  The duo will head to Oxford, OH, to start their college careers next fall will they will join another former Tauro Scott Dornbrock who will be in his junior season at Miami.

Mohs chose Miami because “it is an excellent school and hockey program.”  Mohs said having “great teammate Brandt” going with will make the adjustment easier, both he and Brandt said that they are “excited to play together in college.”  Mohs credits the success in his career to “my family’s support, and of course my coaches and really the entire Minotauros organization.”

Mohs becomes the fourth Minotauro to commit to an NCAA DI program this season.  Aside from Brandt, Matt Jennings committed to Dartmouth and now former Tauro Johnny Walker committed to Arizona State prior to being traded.
