Blaine, MN – The Minotauros continued their trend of dominating five on five play and finally stayed out of the penalty box in grabbing their first win of the season.  Christian Mohs broke the scoring open just 2:13 into the game when he beat Trevor Micucci to give the Tauros a 1-0 lead.  Jacob Dittel extended the lead at 8:51 with the Tauros on the power play.  Dean Balsamo put a rebound past Jon Flakne with just under two minutes to play in the first to cut the lead to 2-1.  James LaDouce ripped a shot from the point 3:37 into the second to push the lead to 3-1 which is where it would sit until late in the game.  The Tauros controlled play in the second period out-shooting Aston 21-4, bringing the shot total to 33-11 after 40 minutes.  Andrew Zerban converted on a turnover at 14:30 of the final period but the Rebels could not find a third goal with their net empty.  The win improved the Tauros record to 1-1-2, with two more games remaining in the NAHL Showcase.

Next up for the Tauros is 1-3-0 Amarillo.  The Bulls won their opener September 12th over Odessa 6-3.  Since then they have dropped three games to Lone Star, Coulee Region, and the Minnesota Wilderness while being outscored 8-4.  The Bulls are also being outshot by an average of 38-24.  Conversely the Tauros are out-shooting opponents 32-28.6 on average.  The Tauros and Bulls have never met before.  Puck drop on Friday is at 1:30 p.m.; the game will be available on Fasthockey.com, KRRZ 1390, and streaming at Prostyle Productions.
