Tyler Jeanson comes to the Tauros with two seasons of junior experience under his belt despite turning 18 just two days before the season opener in Brookings. Jeanson spent the last two seasons playing for the Portage Terriers in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. In those two seasons he has skated in 115 junior games and posted 44 goals and 50 assists for 94 total points. His excellent play through two seasons in the MJHL has already earned him a scholarship to NCAA DI Colgate University.
Jeanson will come in with high expectations based on his resume. At 5’8” and 168 lbs., Jeanson’s stature fits more in the mold of last season’s Tauros than this year’s bigger group, but with his skill he should be able to overcome as size disadvantage. If he is able to produce at the same level he did in the MJHL he will quickly become a fixture in the top six and a fan favorite.
From the Coach’s Office: Tyler should be an excellent addition to our line up. He has two productive years of Junior A under his belt in Canada, scoring 20+ goals in each of his first two seasons, even though he's still a '97 birth year. In watching him on the ice, he could be a very dynamic player and complement some of our skilled wingers. – Head Coach Marty Murray
