Minot, ND – As the 2016/17 NAHL season draws near we are giving Tauros fans a chance to meet all of the new members of the club as well as learn a little more about the returning Tauros. We will play 20 questions with a different Tauro every day from now until the NAHL Showcase going in number order, today we catch up with rookie goaltender #35 Eric Dop.
Eric Dop comes in already committed to NCAA DI Bowling Green. His name may sound familiar to Tauro fans as he played one game for the Tauros last season as an affiliate player. The Tauros won that game 7-1 over the Aberdeen Wings on the last day before the NAHL Christmas break with Dop stopping 30 of the 31 shots he faced. Splitting time with Tauro teammate Austin Park last season for the Tier 1 Elite League’s Ohio Blue Jackets U1 team Dop played 18 games posting 1.47 GAA and .952 SV%.
From the Coaches’ Office: Eric has had a very solid camp. He is positionally sound and he hasn’t let a bad goal in during our exhibition season. He’s met our expectations in training camp and there is a lot of calmness in his game. – Marty Murray
