Minot, ND – The Minotauros have signed Rykr Cole, who has spent the last four plus seasons playing Canadian Major Junior in the Western Hockey League.  The 6’0’, 183 lbs., forward posted 66 points in 203 WHL regular season games split between the Regina Pats and the Spokane Chiefs.  Cole, 20,  became available when the Chiefs added a player that put them over the 20-year-old player limit.

Cole is excited for the opportunity Minot provides, “I chose Minot because it is the best opportunity for me to develop as a player, especially working with a coach like Marty Murray who I’m hoping to learn a lot from.”

Tauros Head Coach/G.M. Marty Murray was understandably excited to be adding a player of Cole’s caliber, “we’re thrilled to add a player with Rykr’s track record.  To have over 200 games in the WHL we expect him to bring a lot to our group with his leadership ability and obviously give our top six a big boost.”  Cole who had 29 goals, a plus seven rating, and five fights during his time in the WHL said he prides himself on being a “responsible player with an edge.”

The Moosomin Saskatchewan, native will join the Tauros for practice this week and debut Friday at the Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena on Friday when the Tauros host the Aberdeen Wings.  Tickets for Friday and Saturday’s game are available through the “Tickets” tab atop this page or at tickets.minotauroshockey.com.
