Minot, ND – The Minotauros did not wait long to sign their first tender of the 2015/16 season signing Wyatt Aamodt a day after the tender signing period opened.  Aamodt, was originally a fifth round pick of the Tauros in this summers NAHL draft, however despite the Tauros coaching staff believing he was junior ready this year Aamodt elected to return to Hermantown High School to vie for a Minnesota High School State Title.

Aamodt may get some action with the Tauros late this season as an AP player after the high school season.  There is an outside chance he could follow in the footsteps of fellow Hermantown High turned Tauro Nate Pionk and join the club full time after the high school season as well.

In two seasons skating for Hermantown, Aamodt has posted 15 goals and 42 assists in 50 games as a defenseman.  In the fall High School Elite League this season Aamodt posted 9 goals and 13 assists for 22 points in 21 games, along with another 6 assists in 3 postseason contests for Team North.  Tauros Head Coach and G.M. Marty Murray said “Wyatt has a very heavy shot, he reminds me of [former Tauro] Jon Lizotte in that he can contribute at both ends of the ice.”

The Tauros have 9 remaining tender agreements to sign or trade this season.  Check back to minotauroshockey.com for all Tauros news, or follow us on Facebook and Twitter
