Minot, ND – The 2019-20 Minotauros report for training camp on August 22nd, and finally their schedule is complete as the North American Hockey League has released the 2019-20 NAHL Showcase schedule.  The Tauros will face Springfield, Amarillo, Johnstown, and Maryland over the four-day festival to start the regular season.  The Showcase takes place in Blaine, MN over four days from September 18-21.  All 26 NAHL teams will attend and 24 of them will play four games while two teams, Odessa and Amarillo will play just two games plus an exhibition game against the US National Team Development Program.

The Tauros have seen the Midwest Division’s Springfield twice in the past at the NAHL Showcase with wins over the Jr. Blues in 2013 and 2014.  The match-up will be the season opening game for both teams and will take place in prime-time with a 7:00 p.m. puck drop.

Then the next day the Tauros will take on the Amarillo Bulls at 1:00 p.m. It will be the second time the two have met at the Showcase with the Tauros taking the lone previous meeting 6-3 on Day Three of the 2015 Showcase.

The Tauros final two games at the Showcase will be against teams they’ve never faced before.  Thursday 3:30 p.m. the Tauros will face the Johnstown Tomahawks.  Then on the final day of the Showcase the Tauros will play the Maryland Black Bears at 11:30 a.m.

The Tauros have been dominant at the NAHL Showcase of late going 12-3-1 over the last four seasons.  All-time the Tauros are 16-13-3 at the Showcase.  After the Showcase the Tauros will stay on the road with two more trips to Minnesota first to St. Cloud for the Blizzard’s first ever home game in their new city and then to Cloquet to take on the Minnesota Wilderness.  Then the Tauros will finally return home to the Maysa Arena on October 11th for their home opener against the Aberdeen Wings.

Tauros fans do not have to wait until October 11th to see the Tauros in Minot however, there will be a free intersquad scrimmage on Thursday August 29th at 7:00 p.m.  Then on September 6th and 7th the Tauros will host the Estevan Bruins and St. Cloud Blizzard on the Pepsi Rink at the Maysa Arena in a pair of preseason tune-ups, both at 7:35 p.m.  The Tauros will close the preseason with the War in Watford City, a pair of games against the Bismarck Bobcats at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City.  (full preseason details here)
