Minot, ND – The Minotauros got back on track with a win over rival Bismarck on Friday night.    The rivalry between the two North Dakota NAHL teams continues to build steam and Friday’s win did nothing to slow it down.

After 29 minutes had passed scoreless the two teams tempers got the best of them.  A scrum at the side of the Bismarck net quickly escalated into a line-brawl.  The result was Tauros Mason Morelli and Jake Clifford along with Levi Blom and Matt Anders of the Bobcats being assessed five minute majors; Steven Sherman picked up a two minute slashing minor, and Nate Repensky earned a pair of minors and a game ejection for removing Sherman’s helmet.

Later in the second period with the Tauros on the rush Sherman took the puck wide and centered for Cody Milligan who redirected the pass past Aaron Nelson to give the Tauros a 1-0 lead.  Then in the middle of the third, Paul Sorenson intercepted a pass in the neutral zone and found Lucas Oliver open on the right wing.  Oliver sent a shot over Nelson’s glove to double the Tauros lead.  The two goals were all that Ryan Ruck would need.  The Tauros’ goaltender made 40 saves on the night earning his second shutout of the season.

Next Up: The Tauros head to Aberdeen on next Friday and then to Bismarck on Saturday.  Both games can be seen on fasthockey.com
