Minot, ND – As the Minotauros seventh season draws near it is time to start meeting the players heading to Minot for training camp.  Camp opens September 3rd and the pre-season opens on September 9th against the Bismarck Bobcats at the Maysa Arena.  We continue meeting the team with forward Spencer Kimball.

Kimball is a steady defenseman who joins the Tauros after playing high school hockey in Michigan last season.  He posted 15 points in 30 games for Detroit Catholic Central last season after playing AAA U16 the two previous seasons for the Belle Tire and Honeybaked programs in Michigan.

Kimball first appeared on the Tauros radar at the NIT, Assistant General Manager Chris Lonke’s praised Kimball’s smarts, “he is a guy at the end of the game you find yourself saying he didn’t put himself in a bad position and always made the right puck decision.”

Head Coach Marty Murray also praised the consistency to Kimball’s game, “When I think of Spencer Kimball, two words that come to mind are solid and dependable.  He’s not flashy by any means, but he’s strong defensively, and makes a good outlet pass.”  He added that “I think he could be a good penalty killer and develop into a shutdown type d-man.”

Come back tomorrow when we will meet veteran forward Austin Koss.  Do not miss your chance to see Kimball and all of the Tauros in game action for the first time September 9th at 7:35 at the Maysa Arena when the Bismarck Bobcats come to Minot to open the pre-season.
