2022-23 Schedule Release

Jun 21, 2022

Minot, ND – The Minot Minotauros 12th season is just about set as the Tauros and NAHL announced the 2022-23 exhibition and regular season schedules today (printable version here). The only remaining question will be the Tauros four opponents at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, MN, the league’s season kickoff event where all 29 teams from across the country gather to play interdivisional games.

The Tauros will open the exhibition season against the Helena Bighorns of the NA3HL at home the first weekend of September and then the following weekend head to Watford City for the annual “War in Watford” with the Bismarck Bobcats.  The games then start to count the following week when the Tauros head to the aforementioned NAHL Showcase.

The Tauros then return to the Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena for the home opener on September 23rd with the North Iowa Bulls coming to the Magic City.  Bismarck comes to town the following Friday and then the Tauros head down 83 the next night.

Other important dates on the Tauros schedule include October 22nd when the Minotauros Booster Club host the annual Trunk-or-Treat Tailgate party. Pack the Pepsi night on Black Friday November 25th.  The SCHEELS Teddy Bear Toss Game on December 16th, Liberty Tax Super Hero Night on January 28th.  Knowles Jewelry Valentine’s Day Diamond Giveaway on February 11th.  Souris River Brewing St. Patty’s Day party on March 17th.

From a hockey stand point this may be the most interesting schedule the Tauros have ever had.  The Tauros September see’s their only games outside of North Dakota coming at the NAHL Showcase.  Similarly the Tauros play every game in January on the Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena.  The home heavy months however come at a price as the Tauros will play two difficult travel heavy stretches.  First in November and December the team will play 11 of 15 games on the road.  Then the team closes the season with six of the final eight games on the road.
