8 Tauros Drafted to the USHL

May 2, 2017

Minot, ND – Eight Minotauros were selected in the United States Hockey League (USHL) Phase II Draft today.  Three of the Minotauros taken were key contributors to last season’s Central Division title, Alex Adams (3rd round, 39th overall), Austin Park (4th round, 49th overall), and Reid Stefanson (7th round, 105th overall).  The remaining five Minotauros selected all appeared in games as Affiliate Players for the Tauros and are considered part of the plan for the 2017-2018 season: Sam Huff (1st round, 15th overall), Luke Manning (8th round, 125th overall), Spencer Meier (9th round, 142nd overall), Luke Johnson (9th round, 147th overall), and Connor McGinnis (12th round 186th overall).

Players selected in Phase II of the USHL Draft are added to their club’s 45-man roster.  Like the NAHL, USHL teams must cut down to 23 players for the majority of the regular season.  The Minotauros retain the NAHL rights for the players selected in today’s USHL Draft through the 2017-2018 season.

The Minotauros next opportunity to add to the roster is the North American Hockey League (NAHL) Entry Draft.  The NAHL Entry Draft will take place on June 6th at 1:00 p.m. Central Time and can be followed at nahldraft.com or watched live on HockeyTV.com.
