Team Doctor
Dr. Dawn Mattern, MD is board certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. She sees active patients and competitive athletes from all over the entire region and oversees the Trinity Sports Medicine Athletic Trainers as they serve the extended community.
She received her training first at the Center for Family Medicine in Minot, North Dakota and then completed a fellowship at Ohio State University Sports Medicine Center. Upon graduation, she served as the Head Team Physician for the Men’s Hockey Team at OSU. She returned to Minot in 2002, and has devoted her time to covering local sports teams, education of medical students, residents, and Minot State University Athletic Training students, and ensuring quality care and rehabilitation of her patients.
She is also a volunteer Team Physician with the United States Olympic Committee and the Justin Boots Sports Medicine Team with the professional rodeo. Her clinical interests include concussion and exercise as medicine.
Athletic Trainer
Rachel Specht, MS. ATC., joins the Tauros after completing her Master’s of Science in Athletic Training from Michigan State University in 2026. Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, she also earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from McMaster University in 2024. Alongside her athletic training education, Rachel recently completed clinical placements and internships with University of Denver Men’s Hockey, Mississippi State Football, and Michigan State Women’s Soccer. She developed a passion for hockey during her time at McMaster University, where she assisted with the Women’s and Men’s Club Hockey teams during the 2022-2023 season.
As a Certified Athletic Trainer, Rachel brings a competitive, culture-driven mindset and a commitment to returning athletes to the ice through movement-based rehabilitation and manual therapy techniques.
Rachel is excited to join the Tauros organization and contribute to the high performance, team-first environment. She looks forward to becoming a member of the Minot hockey community.
Director of Strength and Conditioning/Equipment Manager
Mark Belknap is entering his second season with the Minot Minotauros. A Minnesota native, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he played collegiate soccer while earning his degree in Exercise Science. Following graduation he served as a Strength and Conditioning Intern for the University of Minnesota Hockey programs, gaining valuable experience in athlete performance and development.
Team Chiropractor
Dr. Devanni Pearson,native of Auburn, Washington, graduated at the top of her class at Palmer College of Chiropractic (2014). At school she met her best friend and husband, Dr. Paul Pearson.
Dr. Devanni has completed over 200 hours of specialized training for the care of pregnant and pediatric patients but is excited to help patients of all ages and backgrounds. She is excited to be living in the beautiful and growing city of Minot, ND.
Team Chiropractor
Dr. Paul Pearson, native of Minot, North Dakota, graduated with highest honors from Palmer College of Chiropractic and is excited to be back in North Dakota. Dr. Pearson spent a year in the rehabilitation and sports injury department treating patients while at Palmer. He is certified in many soft tissue therapies such as Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) and Graston Technique.
He met his wife at Palmer College and could not be happier to be back in Minot, serving the growing community.
Team Dentist
Lindell Kemmet, DDS
grew up on a farm near Tappen, ND where his father farms and runs a water/irrigation well drilling company. The rest of Dr. Kemmet’s family, his mother and sister, are registered nurses. It is easy to see why dentistry, with its hands-on, practical application to medicine was a draw to him with his solid North Dakota born and bred background!
Dr. Kemmet attended a boarding high school in West St. Paul, MN, St. Croix Lutheran High School, then received his degree in Chemistry from NDSU in Fargo. He went on to receive his degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis in 2007. Dr. Kemmet initially practiced in South Dakota for nearly 3 years with the Indian Health Service before joining a residency program in Oklahoma for an additional year after that. He then moved back to Minneapolis for 2 years and worked for a large private practice group dental office, as well as for Children’s Dental Services, a low-income high-need dental service where he practiced throughout the Minneapolis/St. Paul area in Head Start facilities, grade schools, and middle schools. In 2012, Dr. Kemmet made the decision to move back “home” to North Dakota.
Dr. Kemmet loves family time with his wife Grace and their three children, two dogs and cat. They are always finding ways to road trip for a hike in the mountains, fishing with his friends for charity, or finding a concert to attend. His life hobby has been prairie dog “hunting” which really is just long-distance precision shooting. They are currently enjoying gardening, home renovations, and anything else they can do together.
