Scouting Staff

Assistant General Manager – Chris Lonke

Chris Lonke, is a Proctor, Minnesota native, has been a member of the Tauros scouting staff since 2012 and is also the team’s Assistant General Manager. He has been coaching Minnesota high school hockey since 1997 and has also served as the assistant coach at Hamline University.  Currently ,Lonke is the head coach at New Prague High School.

Lonke has led three different teams to the Minnesota Class A State Tourney- The 2003 Simley Spartans and back to back in 2014 (Finished 3rd) and 2015 (Won the Consolation Championship) with the New Prague Trojans.  Lonke was an assistant coach at Hamline University for the 2007-08 season when the Pipers won the MIAC Championship.  Lonke has been been named Section Head Coach of the Year  four different times: 2003, 2011, 2014 and 2015 and was named the Minnesota High School State Class A Head Coach of the Year in 2003.

Lonke graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education in 1997. He received his Master’s in activities and athletic administration from the University of St. Thomas in 2007.  Lonke has two children with his wife Tonya, Taylor and Jack.

 

Director of Scouting – Justin Schreiber

Justin Schreiber, is a native of Lincoln, NE. He joins the Tauros staff in 2022-23 as Director of Scouting after a successful stint with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights in the North American Hockey League where he served as the Assistant General Manager and Director of Scouting. While with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the Knights made the NAHL East Division playoffs each season and ultimately made it to the Robertson Cup Playoffs Championships as the East Division Champion in 2018-19. Prior to working with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Justin served on the scouting staff of the Kenai River Brown Bears of the NAHL as Midwest Regional Scout.

 

 

 

 

 

Northern Minnesota Scout – Brad Clayton

Brad Clayton,  Brad spent the last nine seasons with the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the USHL as Head Scout and Director of Bantam Prospects. He also served as Director of Player Personnel/Assistant Coach for the Austin Bruins in the NAHL.  Brad is currently Director of Scouting for the Granite City Lumberjacks in the NA3HL.  Brad served as Director of Scouting for the Janesville Jets in the NAHL from 2012-2015.  He was Director of Scouting and Guidance for FHIT Hockey based out of Blaine, Minnesota from 2015-2017.

Brad coached team Rangers to a championship in the inaugural Bantam Elite League season, he currently coaches District 12 in the Minnesota 15’s High Performance program and also coaches the Minnesota Blue Ox U16 team in the Minnesota Tier 1 League.

Brad, his wife Amber, and their son Dylan reside in Northern Minnesota.
