Away We Go

Blaine, MN – The Minotauros head out on the road with their first ten games all taking place outside of the Maysa Arena starting this week with four games in as many days at the NAHL Showcase.  With just seven members returning from last year’s squad the Tauros should benefit from the time on the road to bond off the ice, and will hopefully come together quickly on the ice as well.

The Tauros open the NAHL Showcase in prime time, at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night against the Springfield Jr. Blues.  This will be the Tauros second all-time meeting between the Tauros and Blues with the Tauros taking a 2-1 win at the 2013 Showcase.  Tim Donohue fueled that victory with a goal and an assist in front of Brandon Wildung in net.

The Tauros turn around quickly with a 1:00 p.m. start on Thursday against the Amarillo Bulls.  Like they did against Springfield the Tauros doubled up the Bulls in their only Showcase meeting a 6-3 win at the 2015 NAHL Showcase.  Jack Murphy’s two goals led the way along with a goal and assist each for Johnny Walker and James LaDouce.

The Tauros finish the Showcase with games against opponents they have never seen from the East Division.  Friday the Tauros take on the Johnstown Tomahawks at 3:30 p.m. and follow it Saturday with a look at second year squad the Maryland Black Bears.

After the Tauros wrap the Showcase they will have two more weekends in Minnesota.  The Tauros will be in St. Cloud to play the first games against the Blizzard in their new home since leaving Brookings this summer; then the Tauros will be off to Cloquet to take on the Wilderness.  All of those games will take place before the Tauros finally return home for the Home Opener against the Aberdeen Wings on October 11th to start a six-game home stand.

Great seats are still available for the home opener and season tickets. For more info check the “Tickets” tab atop this page! All Tauro regular season home games will be broadcast live in HD on and free audio is available on the “Listen Live” tab atop this page.
