Minot, ND – The Minotauros are proud to announce the Tender signing of Joseph Blackley.  Blackley, a defenseman already committed to Yale is currently playing for Nichols School in Buffalo, NY.  In 81 career games the blue-liner has 53 points for Nichols on 11 goals and 42 assists; he is also currently serving as team captain.

Tauros Head Coach and General Manager Cody Campbell was ecstatic to sign Blackley on the opening day of Tender season: “we are thrilled that Joseph is going to be a part of the Tauros future. He is a smooth skating two-way D that will contribute to our team’s future success in multiple facets. We look forward to having him in Minot.”

Blackley, who played one game for the Tauros last season agrees that he plays a two-way game, “I think I’m a puck moving defenseman that likes to be a part of the offense.”  He added that he chose to sign with the Tauros, “I chose Minot because they’re a very well respected organization in the nahl with a great coaching staff and has one of the best rinks and fan bases in the league.”

Blackley is the first tender signing for the Tauros this season.  Teams were not allowed to start signing players to Tender Agreements for the 2022-23 season until November 1, Blackley signed on the first possible date.  Blackley becomes the first Tender signing of Campbell’s since he took over the Head Coach/G.M. role before this season.
