Blizzard Warning

St. Cloud, MN – The Minotauros got some unexpected rest this week after the Aberdeen Wings failed to make it to Minot for Wednesday night’s game.  The rested Tauros head into a weekend set with St. Cloud in the midst of the tight playoff race.  The Tauros are four points behind the second place Bobcats and a single point behind the third place Bruins.  St. Cloud meanwhile sits on the verge of being eliminated from the playoff race in last place.

The Tauros have had success against the Blizzard this season going 6-2-0 in the series set.  Leading scorers Nik Armstrong-Kingkade and Kyler Kleven each have posted big numbers against the Blizzard with 12 and 10 points respectively.  Cade Stibbe has 11 of his 24 points this season in the eight contests against St. Cloud.  Goaltenders Ben Garriy and A.J. Ruskowski have both struggled against St. Cloud despite getting wins with a .887 SV% and 3.277 GAA combined.

Bud Winter (2g 8a), Brady Bjork (5g 4a), and Jack Suchy (4g 4a) have all posted a point-per-game against the Tauros this season.  Former Tauro Ryan Green had four goals against the Tauros as well but has since been traded to the Kenai River.  Tyler Bost has done well against the Tauros since joining the Blizzard with a .914 SV% in a little over a game.  After a stretch during which the Blizzard went 4-2-0 the Blizzard have gone just 2-15-1.

For the Tauros this weekend provides another chance to move up in the standings as the Bobcats and Bruins go head-to-head.  The Farmers Union Pregame Show for both games starts at 6:55 for 7:10 puck drops.  Tune in on www.HockeyTV.com, the Tauros Facebook page, YouTube page, and the “Listen Live” tab atop this page.
