Chill Shot

Onalaska, WI – The Tauros head to Onalaska, WI this weekend with a pair of games against the fifth place Coulee Region Chill.  The games come after the Tauros finally had a chance to rest after playing six games in nine days coming out of the Christmas break.  Now the Tauros settle into a pattern of five consecutive weeks with only Friday and Saturday night games. 

It starts this weekend with a chance to pull away from the Chill.  The Tauros have won all three previous meetings with the Chill netting four goals in each meeting while surrendering four total goals to the Chill in the process.  The Tauros won the most recent meeting 4-0 with Ryan Ruck posting the shutout. 

Sean Lang has done the most damage for the Chill against the Tauros with a pair of goals.  Coulee’s leading scorer Mac Jansen has been held scoreless against the Tauros.  Blake Cates has received the lion’s share of the work in goal for the Chill but has been pulled from two of his three starts against the Tauros this year. 

Jadin Martin’s six points (2g 4a) against the Chill are tops on the Tauros.  Chance Creger, Tim Donohue, and Mason Morelli all also have two goals against the Chill.  While Tyler Parks has carried the load in net for the Tauros Ruck has started two of the three against the Chill.  Ruck has stopped 53 of 56 shots against the Chill including a shutout in the last meeting.

Player to Watch: Steven Sherman, had two goals in the Tauros last game in Austin on Saturday and has four points in three games against the Chill.

Watch the Games: Friday night’s game starts at 8:00 p.m. and is the January Buffalo Wings and Rings Road Watch Party.  The party is all you can eat wings and all you can drink soda for $15, or $30 for wings and beer.  Saturday’s game has been moved to start at 4:30 p.m.
