Connor Mauro Departs

Minot, ND – The Minot Minotauros are proud to announce that Assistant Coach Connor Mauro is leaving the organization to take a role with an NCAA DI program.  Mauro joined the Minotauros in early May and helped to build the current roster ahead of the 2022-23 season.

“I want to thank the entire Tauros organization, especially Cody, for the opportunity they gave me. It’s very bittersweet for me but I’m extremely grateful for my time spent in Minot and excited for the next chapter,” said Mauro.

Tauros Head Coach and General Manager Cody Campbell “We couldn’t be happier for Connor, to get an opportunity to work at the NCAA D1 level was his goal when he came to Minot and he was able to accomplish that in a short time frame. Though his time in Minot was brief he had a large impact on what our roster will look like this upcoming season and contributed heavily while he was here. We wish him the best of luck as he advances to DI college hockey.”

For now, Campbell intends not to fill the vacancy created by Mauro’s departure saying, “additionally I am very confident in the attributes Kyle Sharkey brings to the table to continue to operate at a high level as a staff. Myself, Kyle and Chris Lonke are excited about the group we are bringing in and cannot wait to get started next week.”

Last season was the first that the Tauros had two full-time assistant coaches on staff: Darren Banks and Jake Howie.  Both departed at the end of the season accepting Head Coaching opportunities leading to Mauro and Sharkey’s additions in May.

Players report to Minot for the start of training camp on August 20th.  Stay tuned to gotauros.com and the Tauros socials for updates and all other news as the season approaches.
