Henbrant Goes DI

Apr 25, 2019

Minot, ND – The Minot Minotauros are proud to announce the first year forward Didrik Henbrant has committed to play for the NCAA DI Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks.  Henbrant, who represented the Minotauros at the 2019 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, becomes the 43rd Minotauro to commit to an NCAA DI program.  Henbrant will join another Tauro Alum James LaDouce who will be a senior at Alaska Fairbanks next season.

Henbrant was sixth on the Tauros in scoring this season with 40 points on 19 goals and 21 assists, and now leads the team in scoring through the first round of the playoffs with two goals and three assists. The Swedish import chose Alaska Fairbanks both for the hockey and academics saying that he plans to study Business Administration.

Tauros Head Coach and General Manager Marty Murray praised Henbrant saying “Didirik is very deserving of a DI opportunity.”  He continued saying Alaska Fairbanks is getting a player with “a very good skill set and high compete level.”

Henbrant credits his time in Minot with helping him advance to the next level. He was quick to thank his “family and billet family for all of the support” as well as his “teammates and coaches” for helping him reach his goal.

Henbrant and the Tauros head to Aberdeen this weekend for the start of the Central Division Finals with the Wings.  Games One and Two of the series are in Aberdeen with Game Three and Four (in necessary) in Minot May 3rd and 4th, if needed Game Five would have the series return to Aberdeen May 6th.
