Minot, ND – The Minotauros kept their hot streak going improving to 13-2-2 over the last 17 games with a 4-1 win over the Aberdeen Wings Tuesday night (box score).  The win came despite being outshot be the Wings 39-33 thanks to the opportunistic Tauros attack and defense that kept the Wings mostly to the outside.

Tauro captain Jared Brandt (5g 19a) opened the scoring (highlight) in the middle of the first period on a long low shot from the point.  The Tauros doubled the lead late in the second period when Derek Frentz (15g 16a) (highlight) and Matt Jennings (11g 21a) (highlight) scored 1:07 apart with both goals coming on the rush to give the Tauros a 3-0 cushion headed into the third.

Jackson Graalum (12g 6a) attempted to spark a comeback (highlight) with his goal 9:53 into the third.  It would not be enough however as the Tauros clamped down for the final ten minutes and Jennings hit the empty net in the waning seconds (highlight) to push the final to 4-1.

Notes:  The Tauros next win will official clinch them a playoff spot for the fourth consecutive season.  Chase Springman (12g 18a) had two assists giving him 61 career points as a Tauro moving him alone into fourth place all-time in Tauros scoring ahead of Jon Lizotte and his 59 points.
