Storyline
The Tauros look to rebound from just their second pointless weekend of the summer after dropping both games to the Wilderness last weekend in Minnesota. As luck would have it the Tauros do not have to wait long for a chance at revenge as by a quirk of the schedule after not seeing the Wilderness all season long before last weekend the Tauros will see them again this weekend, this time at home.
Tauros
The Tauros offense has rebounded since the Christmas break with 15 goals in five games after posting 23 goals in the 10 games leading into the break. The line of Taylor Lantz (4g 3a), Keenan Lund (3g 3a), and Andrew Kangas (1g 5a) has been huge part of that rejuvenation combining for eight goals and 11 assists in five games since the break while posting just four goals and five assists over the ten games before. In six games since joining the Tauros via trade Vince Marino has not disappointed posting a goal and three helpers.
The Tauros are also looking forward to a little home cooking, as they are 8-5-0 on Maysa Arena ice while going just 10-10-1 away from the Magic City. Home ice mattered last season in the season series with the Wilderness too as the Tauros went 3-1-0 against the Wilderness in Minot but just 1-5-0 against them in Cloquet.
Wilderness
The Wilderness have been playing well since the start November going 13-6-0 since the end of October. Offense has driven the Wilderness’s success with the league’s fourth ranked output at 3.36 goals per game including 33 power play goals in 33 games played. The Wilderness have three scorers with at least 30 points, Dylan Johnson (15g 16a), Aaron Myers (12g 19a), and Jack Johnson (10g 20a); and two more Nate Horn (9g 20a) and Ondrej Trejbal (9g 20a) both have 29 points on the year. In net Ryan Fanti grabbed both wins against the Tauros last weekend allowing six goals on 61 shots.

Friday’s game starts at 5:00 p.m. college students get in free with ID and all Tauro fans are welcome to stay for the Minot State vs. U. Mary game after the Tauros play. Saturday’s game is a typical 7:35 start.
