Aberdeen, SD – For the first time since late October the Minotauros are on a losing streak.  The Tauros had been 14-3-1 since losing two in a row on October 20th and 26th.  The Aberdeen Wings on the other hand have been in a tailspin losers of 10 in a row, going 0-8-2 since December 1st, and since starting the season 2-0-0 have only won only six more games.  The Wings’ struggles have lead to Pete Sauer being replaced as the Wings coach by Garrett Strot, who obviously has not faired much better.  Since Strot has taken over the Wings are 0-4-1 and have been outscored 22-7.

Despite the Wings’ struggles this season they have played well against the Minotauros.  The Tauros are 2-2-0 against the Wings with one of the wins coming via shootout.  A big part of the Wings’ success against the Tauros has been the play of Justin Parizek.  The Wings’ forward has seven points on three goals and four assists in just three games against the Tauros.  Marcus Zelzer also has raised his game against the Tauros as well.  While he has .895 SV% on the season he has a .917 SV% against the Tauros.

Tim Donohue has been on a tear of late with four goals and three assists over the Tauros’ last five games. The Tauro captain also has dominated the Wings with four goals and three assists appearing in three games against Aberdeen.  Tyler Parks on the other hand has struggled against Aberdeen.  He has a 3.29 GAA against Aberdeen compared to 2.45 GAA against everyone else.  Parks’ SV% takes a similar dip against the Wings dropping to .898 against Aberdeen from .923 against everyone else.

Player to Watch: Jake Clifford, had a goal in the last meeting between the Tauros and Wings and has five points in his last seven games.
