Minot, ND – As the Minotauros seventh season draws near it is time to start meeting the players who hope to head to the NAHL Showcase after training camp.  Camp opened September 3rd and the pre-season closes today against the Fargo Force at the Maysa Arena at 3:00 p.m., tickets are free for today’s scrimmage. We continue meeting the team with Brendan Sheehan.

Sheehan joins the Tauros after playing for the NAPHL Omaha Lancers 18U team last season.  In 21 games for the Lancers Sheehan posted 12 goals and 20 assists for 32 points.  Sheehan went to Omaha after playing the 2015-16 season with Shattuck St. Mary’s where he posted 30 points (10g 20a) in 47 games.

Sheehan describes himself as “a power forward who likes to play fast and physical paced game and create space for my linemates.”  Sheehan continued, “I try to model my game after Dustin Brown because he’s a big strong winger who can intimidate the opposing team with his physicality and can create scoring opportunities with his speed and shot.”

That comparison is not lost on Tauros Head Coach and General Manager Marty Murray who described Sheehan similarly, “Brendan has a great combination of size, speed, and skill.  When he’s at his best, he’s a top end player.  He shoots the puck extremely well, and is a big, strong kid that is hard to take off the puck.”  With that in mind Murray has high expectations for Sheehan, “our hopes are that he understands that consistency is very important, and if he can bring it every day, he’ll be a great power forward at our level.”

Come back tomorrow when we will meet rookie goalie Jake Sibbel.  Do not miss your chance to see Sheehan and all of the Tauros in action this afternoon at 3:00 at the Maysa Arena when the Fargo Force come to Minot to close the pre-season.  Tickets will be FREE at the door!
