Blaine, MN – The Minot Minotauros concluded the 2022 NAHL Showcase with a 2-2-0 record in a decisive 5-2 win over the Anchorage Wolverines. Minot scored the game’s first goal for the fourth time in a row in this year’s Showcase.

Forward Jack O’hanisain lead the way against the Wolverines, registering his second goal this season. Braden Panzer was credited with the assist. Just over two minutes later, Justin Dauphinais struck on the power play connecting on a rebound from Colby Joseph’s shot to make it 2-0.

Heading into the second period, the Tauros began to take control, netting three markers that included Colby Joseph’s first goal in the Showcase and second point in today’s matchup. Joe Westlund and defenseman Colby Woogk followed with their own tallies to make it 5-1. However, Alaska did cash in an opportunity in the second period with a goal from defenseman Danny Reis.

In an uneventful third period, the Tauros could not get on the scoreboard while Anchorage netted the period’s lone goal to make it 5-2. Despite the Wolverines tally, the score would stand at 5-2 as netminder Lawton Zacher stopped 26 of 28 Wolverines shots to pick up his second win in this year’s campaign.

Next up for the Tauros is a return to The Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena for the 12th Home Opener in franchise history on Friday night. The Home Opener kicks off a three-game home stand with two games next Friday and Saturday against the North Iowa Bulls and then the Bismarck Bobcats on Friday, September 30th.   Tickets for those and all of Tauro’s home games can be purchased through the “Tickets” tab atop this page or by clicking here.
