NAHL Showcase Day Two

Sep 15, 2022

Blaine, MN – The Minotauros picked up their first win of the season today with an 8-1 drubbing of the Danbury Hat Tricks.  Nick O’Hanisain opened and eventually closed the scoring as the Tauros dominated the day wire-to-wire to get the win out shooting Danbury 43-17.  Lawton Zacher was almost perfect between the pipes stopping 16 of the 17 shots fired his way in notching his first junior win.

Ten Tauros picked up at least a point on the day led by Colby Joseph who picked up four assists.  In an interesting bit of trivia, Jack O’Hanisain’s first Tauro goal at 11:35 of the second period made him and his brother Nick the first pair of brothers to both score in the same game for the Tauros.  Aside from the O’Hanisains the Tauros got goals from Hunter Longhi, Max Martin, Trevor Stachowiak, and two from Justin Dauphinais.  For all but Stachowiak the goals were the scorer’s first as a Tauro.

Next up the Tauros take on Amarillo who as of this writing is up 4-1 on Kenai River in the third period.  Continuing a trend of the Tauros showcase opponents featuring former Tauros, Carter Clafton has been in goal for both games for the Wranglers so far this week.    The game see the Tauros get their only chance in a prime-time slot in Blaine with an 8:00 p.m. start.  Due to connectivity issues at the National Sports Center Super Rink there will be no Facebook Live feed of the Tauros remaining games in Blaine.  Free audio will continue to be available on the Tauros website under the “Listen Live” tab, on Mixlr, or in the Tauros Hockey App.
