Preview 4-30-21

Apr 30, 2021

Austin, MN – The Minotauros continue their quest for the 2021 Robertson Cup Playoffs in Austin this weekend after falling 3-2 in a shootout last night in St. Cloud.  The point the Tauros got for getting to overtime cut the number of points the Tauros need to clinch a playoff spot down to seven.  The Bruins meanwhile sit in sixth place three points back of the Minnesota Wilderness for the fourth and final playoff spot.

The Tauros have had success against Austin posting a 5-1-0 record and outscoring them 21-15.  Cade Stibbe leads the offense against the Bruins with four goals and two assists.  Brett Roloson also has six points on a goal and five helpers.  Keenan Rancier has only allowed five goals through three contests against the Bruins while Carter Clafton picked up his first two junior wins against the Bruins in a sweep in Austin at the end of March.

For the Bruins Carson Riddle’s four goals lead the way against the Tauros.  Former Tauro Kyle Oleksiuk has three goals and an assist in the season series while Barrett Brooks and Garrett Dahm each have a goal and three helpers to also have four points against the Tauros.

After last night’s shootout loss in St. Cloud the Tauros can still clinch a playoff spot with help from the Aberdeen Wings.  Any combination of seven points either acquired by the Tauros or missed by the Norsemen will lock the Tauros into the post-season for the eighth consecutive Robertson Cup Playoffs.

Tonight’s game will be on HockeyTV.com, Mixlr, Facebook, and GoTauros.com.  The Farmers Union Insurance Pregame Show will start at 6:50 for 7:05 puck drop.
