Storyline

The Tauros head south to Bismarck with a two games to none lead in the best of five Central Division Semifinal.  Friday’s Game Three will be just the second playoff meeting between the Tauros and Bobcats to take place in the VFW as the Tauros swept the only other playoff series in 2015.  If needed the Tauros will return to Bismarck on Saturday night for Game Four, and if they again fail to close out the Cats in Game Four Game Five would be at the Maysa Arena on Monday night.

Tauros

After posting the fourth most goals in the regular season at 3.45 per game, the Tauros took it up a notch in the playoffs’ opening weekend posting 10 goals in the first two games against the Cats.  David Raisanen and Andrew Kangas posted three goals each to pace the Tauro attack.  Didrik Henbrant tied with Raisanen for the team lead with four points each, as Henbrant had a goal and four assists.  The Tauros’ depth was also on display as Matthew Gellerman who was 17th on the Tauros in points and Joseph Harguindeguy who was 20th each added goals as well.  Nicholas Grabko stole the show in net stopping 55 of 59 shots including several highlight reel saves.

Bobcats

The Bobcats offense was not far behind the Tauros in the regular season ranking eighth at 3.03 goals per game; however the Tauros held the Cats to just four goals in the first two games of the series.  Adam Stacho led the Cats offense with two goals, both coming in Game Two of the series.  Blaine Warnert in Game One and Bartek Bison in Game Two added the other two goals.  John Roberts, who had stonewalled the Tauros in the regular season posting a .940 SV% over 11 of the 12 meetings, allowed 9 goals on 52 shots and was pulled halfway through Game One.
