Tauros ’02s Make College Plans

Minot, ND – The Minot Minotauros are proud to announce that the remaining age-out players from the 2022-23 season have advanced to play college hockey.  Four; Cam Boche, Justin Dauphinais, David Nesburg, and Joe Westlund, have all advanced to play at the NCAA D-III level, while Colby Joseph will stay in Minot to play for the defending ACHA D-I National Champion Minot State Beavers.

Boche, posted six points as a Tauro after being acquired mid-season via trade from the Wisconsin Windigo.  Over three seasons in the NAHL Boche recorded 46 points in 96 games. The Lakeville, MN, native will stay close to home electing to play for St. Johns University in Collegeville, MN.

Dauphinais posted 30 points in 58 games in his lone season as a Tauro.  He represented the Tauros at the 2023 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament where he had Team Central’s game winning goal against Team East.  Dauphinais will head to the University of Wisconsin-Superior in the fall.

Nesburg was limited to just 13 games in his second season as a Tauro due to injury but posted six points in those contests.  His first season as a Tauro saw him post 28 points in 48 games for the cream and cardinal.  He will head to Saint Mary’s University in Minnesota.

Westlund, another two season Tauro, will join Tauros alumni Braden Bartoo, Jack Brown, and Tyler Kostelecky at Bethel University.  In two seasons as a Tauro he played 112 games posting nine goals and 22 assists for 31 points. 

Joseph meanwhile turned down multiple NCAA D-III opportunities to remain in the Magic City and play for Minot State.  Over his two seasons as a Tauro the two-time Fan Favorite Award winner posted 33 goals and 30 assists over 117 games.
