As the season approaches we will be giving you a chance to meet the new Tauros as well as learn a little more about the returning players by asking them 20 questions. Ben Falk looks continue the trend of NA3HL players transitioning well to the NAHL in Minot. Christian Mohs, Jake Howie, and Jake Johnson, among others, have all come to the Tauros from the NAHL’s Tier 3 league and become key contributors to playoff teams. With 25 goals and 20 assists last season for the NA3HL’s Nashville Predators, Falk posted numbers similar to each of those three Tauros in their final NA3HL season and will look to make a similar jump.
Prior to skating in the NA3HL last season Falk posted 22 goals and 40 assists in four years of high school hockey with St. Francis High School in Minnesota. Aside from his 45 points for the Predators last season Falk, a dependable two way player, finished with a +36 rating good for 10th in the NA3HL.
After impressing the Tauros coaching staff at Main Camp for the second summer in a row the 5’11” 170 pound 20-year-old will look to stick in Minot this season for his final year of junior.
From the Coach’s office: Ben had an outstanding main camp with us in July. We had built a reputation with him in our main camp last season, and he really seemed to mature over the past year. Ben led our main camp in goals, but it was his work ethic that caught our eye. He never quits on a play, and does the little things well like winning faceoffs and blocking shots. We see Ben being a very responsible player with a good skillset. – Head Coach Marty Murray
