Minot, ND – As the 2016/17 NAHL season draws near we are giving Tauros fans a chance to meet all of the new members of the club as well as learn a little more about the returning Tauros. We will play 20 questions with a different Tauro every day from now until the NAHL Showcase going in number order, today we catch up with veteran forward #23 Chase Springman.
With 35 points last sason Springman finished fifth of the Tauros in scoring and brought his career total to 66 points in Minot. His 6 power play goals led the team and his +15 rating was tops among Tauro forwards. Springman picked up right where he left off scoring 3:34 into his first preseason game on Wednesday night with a power play strike against Bismarck. Going into his final season of junior the Tauros need Springman to continue the consistency he had in the second half of last season which saw him on the scoresheet in all but two weekend sets after the new year.
From the Coaches’ Office: There are high expectations for Chase this season. He’s had double digits in goals both seasons with us, and we think he can be a premier scorer this year. For Chase, consistency is the key. This being his third year in the league, he needs to be a threat every night and be a 200′ foot player. – Marty Murray
