Minot, ND – As the 2016/17 NAHL season draws near we are giving Tauros fans a chance to meet all of the new members of the club as well as learn a little more about the returning Tauros. We will play 20 questions with a different Tauro every day from now until the NAHL Showcase going in number order, today we catch up with veteran forward #16 Nate Pionk.
As a late addition to the roster two seasons ago Pionk gave the team a boost down the stretch with a goal and two assists in the final nine games of the year. Then he added two goals and three assists over the Tauros 8 playoff games. After starting last season in the USHL with the Lincoln Star Pionk never really found his stride upon returning to Minot, posting just 8 points over 30 games but did score a goal in two playoff games.
From the Coaches’ Office: The time is now for Nate!! He’s had experience in our league and is certainly skilled enough to be a major contributor to our team. Nate had a little trouble finding his grove after starting in the USHL last year. I believe in Nate, and think he will be valuable member of our team this season. – Marty Murray
