As they tell it, it was while they were managing two minor pro hockey teams and selling sponsorships that McCarthy and Ferguson realized that businesses they were approaching wanted more bang for their buck. The duo didn’t have anything to sell except traditional advertising so they co-founded FanSaves as a way to solve their own pain point, quickly realizing that they could help many other teams as well.
