Minot, ND – The Minot Minotauros are proud to announce that Jack Westlund, Jay Buchholz, Will Crull, and Nikolai Charchenko will represent the team on Team Central at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament.  The Top Prospects Tournament, which usually takes place in February, will run this year in conjunction with the Robertson Cup in Blaine, MN on June 19th and 20th.

Westlund served as the 10th Captain in Minotauros history this season.  The second year Tauro played 92 career games posting 19 goals and 36 assists; he added four helpers in the Tauros five game playoff series loss to Aberdeen this spring.

Buchholz, like Westlund, just finished his second and final season in Minot.  After starting this season in Sioux Falls playing in the USHL Buchholz returned to Minot to post seven goals and 15 assists in 38 games.  In total he has 64 points on 15 goals and 49 helpers as a Tauro, plus two assists in this spring’s playoffs.  This will be Buchholz’s second trip to the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, he posted an assist last February for Team Central.

Crull has played 84 games for the Tauros over his two seasons and like Westlund and Buchholz is out of junior eligibility. The defenseman has posted 20 career points on six goals and 14 assists and added two more assists this spring in the postseason.

Charchenko also has played two seasons for the Tauros but unlike the other three players has one year of eligibility remaining.  A solid stay at home defenseman Charchenko has 17 assists and a +7 rating through 95 career games in Minot.
