Tauros Tender DeMars

Nov 11, 2021

Minot, ND – The Minotauros are proud to announce that Hayden DeMars becomes the fourth member the Tauros 2021-22 Tender class.  DeMars will be a senior at Grand Rapids High School in Grand Rapids, Minnesota this year, a school that has produced current and former Tauros alike.  Tauro goalie Carter Clafton is a Grand Rapids alum as is former Tauro captain Alex Adams who currently plays at NCAA DI Bemidji State and former defenseman Brendan Mark who plays at NCAA DIII St. Norbert.

DeMars has already had his first taste of NAHL action getting into games last weekend as an Affiliate Player with the Minnesota Wilderness even scoring a goal for the Tauros former Central Division foe.  However, the young forward elected to come to Minot as planned to skate this week and while in town decided to sign for next season.  When asked why he decided to sign in Minot DeMars replied, “I knew they had an A-grade facility but more importantly I liked the staff, coaching philosophy and their work ethic.”

DeMars describes himself as, “a power forward that likes to bring a physical aspect to the game and plays with pace.” He posted 16 points in 19 games for Grand Rapids last season and added eight in 17 for Team Kowalski’s in the Minnesota High School Elite League this fall.

Tauros Head Coach and General Manager Cody Campbell agrees with DeMars’s self assessment, “Hayden is a big strong power forward that has exceptional stick skill and hockey sense for a player his size. Hayden also fits the mold of the kind of person we want in our locker room here in Minot and we are excited to be a part of his development path toward his goal of earning a division 1 opportunity.”
