Minot, ND – The Minot Minotauros are happy to announce the following staff additions to the organization. Rachel Specht will be joining the Tauros this season as the teams Athletic Trainer. She joins the Tauros after completing her Master’s of Science in Athletic Training from Michigan State University in 2026. Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, she also earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from McMaster University in 2024. Alongside her athletic training education, Rachel recently completed clinical placements and internships with University of Denver Men’s Hockey, Mississippi State Football, and Michigan State Women’s Soccer. She developed a passion for hockey during her time at McMaster University, where she assisted with the Women’s and Men’s Club Hockey teams during the 2022-2023 season. When asked about the opportunity in Minot, she said “I’ve felt very welcomed by the Minot hockey community, and I can’t wait to get the season started!” Another addition to this year’s staff will be Zane Bloom. Zane joins the Tauros as the new Broadcast and Media Manager. He will handle the play-by-play responsibilities for the team and will assist with all other aspects of the teams media. Bloom is a lifelong journeyman with roots in eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and Wilmington, North Carolina. While studying Sport Management at Liberty University, he discovered a passion for broadcasting in 2021 with the Wilmington Sharks, a collegiate summer baseball team. In the following years, he continued to call games for the Sharks and started doing public address for ten different sports within Liberty Athletics. Just before graduating in 2024, Zane was hired as the new play-by-play voice of the Lake Erie Crushers, an independent minor league baseball team in Cleveland, Ohio. For three years he called over 150 games and made regular appearances on local news and radio shows. When asked about the opportunity in Minot, he said “It is an honor and a privilege to be the new broadcast voice for the Minotauros. I have felt extremely welcomed already in my short time in Minot, and I can already tell this is a fantastic organization from top to bottom. The opportunity to be the soundtrack of the season is not one I take lightly. My mission is to make this season fun, enjoyable, and memorable for every single Tauros fan tuning in.” Adding to the new additions; a familiar face will be returning to the Pepsi Rink. Hunter Sportan returns for another season as the Ticketing and Business operations intern. A native of Sudbury, Ontario, Hunter is returning for his second season with the organization. Hunter is a graduate of Laurentian University where he earned his degree in Sports Administration. He will assist with the day to day business of the team and will also oversee the teams ticketing operation. The Tauros begin the 2026/27 campaign tomorrow night at 7:15 PM in Aberdeen, South Dakota against the Wings. The home opener is just two weeks away! Friday, October 2nd at 7:35 PM.
