Minotauros alum Atte Tolvanen was named WCHA Goaltender of the Year for his play at Northern Michigan University this season. Tolvanen who played for the Tauros during the 2014-15 season is in his junior year at NMU. This season Tolvanen has posted 17-5-0 record for the Wildcats on a 2.05 GAA and .917 SV%. In 13 of his 22 WCHA starts this season Tolvanen allowed two or fewer goals. For his career Tolvanen has a .918 SV% and 2.46 GAA. Last season, he set the WCHA record with five consecutive shutouts.
While with the Tauros Tolvanen posted a 26-13-5 record with a 1.94 GAA, a .922 SV%, and six shutouts. Tolvanen’s strong play led them to the team to their first playoff series win in franchise history, a three-game sweep of the Bismarck Bobcats.
