Minotauros’ head coach and GM Marty Murray shook up the roster this week making three trades acquiring Travis Maxwell, Jake O’Borsky, and a conditional draft pick.  Leaving Minot is Darren McCormick along with conditional draft picks and tenders.

Maxwell, a ‘93 defenseman, was acquired from Corpus Christi.  At 6’3” 210 lbs. he continues the trend of adding size to the Tauros’ blue line which has already had Chance Creger (6’3” 192 lbs.), Carl Witty (6’2” 190 lbs.), and David Dalbec (6’2” 185 lbs.) join the team since the end of the NAHL Showcase.  Maxwell is in his second season in the NAHL, and with one goal and four assists is currently seventh in the league in scoring among defensemen.

O’Borsky may already sound familiar to Tauros’ fans as he comes to Minot from Wenatchee.  A ’94 forward, O’Borsky is still without a point through six games in his rookie year in the NAHL.  He will also bring some size to the Tauros’ line-up at 6’2” 198 lbs.

McCormick leaves Minot having failed to earn a point and posting a -1 rating over six games.  The Tauros received a conditional draft pick from the Michigan Warriors for McCormick.

With no games this weekend for the Tauros, Maxwell and O’Borsky will make their debuts next Friday against Aberdeen.  Tickets for that game are still available by clicking here or on the “tickets” tab atop this page.
