Weekend Preview 11-11-22

Nov 11, 2022

Austin, MN – The Minotauros look to bounce back against the Austin Bruins this weekend in Austin after being swept by the Bruins last weekend in Minot.  The teams had been tied for the top spot in the Central Division but with Austin taking four points to the Tauros one the Tauros would need to return the favor and sweep the Bruins to jump back into the division’s top spot.

The Tauros jumped out to a three goal lead last Friday before a big third period brought the Bruins back and forced overtime and eventually a shootout which the Bruins won.  The Tauros outshot the Bruins 42-28 on Saturday but could not solve goaltender Trent Wiemken and fell 3-0.

Six Bruins and three Tauros scored last weekend to account for the nine goals scored meaning all nine are tied for the head-to-head goal lead this season.  Weston Knox was the only Tauro with multiple points on a pair of assists and Austin’s Jack Malinski led all point getters with three helpers.

This weekend kicks off a long stretch of road hockey for the Tauros who play just three home games between now and the first of the year.  The Tauros will make another trip to Austin, two trips to St. Cloud, and three trips to Bismarck over that same time.

As always fans will be able to tune into the games on the Minotauros Network.  The game can be watched on HockeyTV or fans can listen to free audio broadcasts on the Tauros Facebook page, Mixlr, gotauros.com, or in the Tauros Hockey App.  The Farmers Union Pregame show will start 15 minutes before road games.
