Weekend Preview 11-19-21

Nov 19, 2021

Austin, MN – The Minotauros are in Austin, MN, to take on the Bruins as the Central Division standings continue to bunch up.  The Bruins were swept by the North Iowa Bulls last weekend while the Tauros, Wings, and Norsemen all picked up points to now have the division’s top five teams all separated by just eight points.

The Tauros come into the weekend off of another weekend split dropping Friday’s game against St. Cloud and bouncing back on Saturday.  Zach Sandy appears to have taken the net starting each of the last five games, his .926 SV% is good for fourth overall in the league.  On offense Zack Simon has three goals and two helpers over the last five games and though he has not scored Huston Karpman has six assists over the same span.

Since the Tauros swept the Bruins in Minot the last weekend of October, Austin has gone 3-2-1.  Carson Riddle continues to lead the club with 23 points through 19 games on eight goals and 15 assists. The Bruins have gone with a time share in net with Hudson Hodges and Klayton Knapp splitting time.

The Tauros are 3-1-0 against the Bruins this season including a split in Austin the first weekend after the NAHL Showcase.  Simon and Tevor Stachowiak lead the Tauros against Austin with six points each.  Marian Haborak had led the Bruins against the Tauros but he has been traded to Danbury.  Of the remaining Bruins Jens Richards has four points against the Tauros.

Both Friday and Saturday night’s games start at 7:00 which means the Farmer’s Union Pregame Show will start at 6:45 on HockeyTV, Facebook Live, and the Tauros Hockey App.
