Weekend Preview 11-23-2022

Nov 23, 2022

Minot, ND – The Minotauros head down Highway 83 tonight to kick off a split series this week that culminates on the Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena Friday night.  The Tauros are 3-1-0 against Bismarck this season and sit seven points ahead of them in the Central Division standings.

The Tauros big names have led the way against the Bobcats with Nick O’Hanisain posting a team high five points (all assists) against the Cats.  Colby Joseph and Hunter Longhi each have four points in four games, Joseph on three goals and one assist while Longhi has two of each.

Meanwhile Vertti Jantunen leads the Cats against the Tauros with three points on two goals and a helper.  Evan Hunter has three helpers to tie Jantunen for the team points lead against Minot, no other Bobcat has more than two points.

In goal the Tauros remain without Lawton Zacher meaning Dane Couture will get the start.  Couture performed well last weekend in Zacher’s absence stopping 55 of 59 St. Cloud shots.  In his one start against the Bobcats Couture stopped 31 of 33 Bobcat shots and got the win.  The Cats meanwhile have leaned on Hunter Garvey since he was acquired from El Paso.  He has been the goalie of record in four of Bismarck’s last five games.  The Tauros have not faced Garvey yet this season but last year he posted a 4-2-0 record against the Tauros as a member of the North Iowa Bulls.

After the series kicks off Wednesday night in Bismarck it will shift back to Minot on Friday.  The Tauros will be debuting new red jerseys on Friday night.  Additionally, every time the Tauros score a fan will win $100.00 through the Aspire Check In to Win game in the Tauros Hockey Mobile App.

Saturday night the Tauros will be hosting the first ever 28 Tastes and Taps Tauros Shootout.  The Tauros will be split into four teams and compete in a series of skills challenges followed by a three-on-three tournament.  Tickets for the 28 Tastes and Tap Tauros Shootout are just $5.00.

Tickets for both the Tauros Black Friday game against Bismarck and Saturday’s 28 Tastes and Taps Tauros Shootout are available through the “Tickets” tab atop this page or by clicking here.
