Weekend Preview 11-4-22

Minot, ND – The Minotauros enter the month of November tied for first place with the Austin Bruins and the two teams will meet for four games in a row starting this weekend on the Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena.  The weekend is also the Tauros Together With Veterans Weekend which will be highlighted by the Tauros wearing special jerseys which are being actioned to support Together With Veterans and their mission of preventing veteran suicide.

The Tauros have won six of their last seven out-scoring opponents 27-14 over that span.  Hunter Longhi and Nick O’Hanisain led the way for the Tauros over that stretch with 13 and 12 points respectively.   O’Hanisain’s efforts led him to being named the NAHL Defenseman of the Month for October.  In net Lawton Zacher earned a runner-up nod for Goaltender of the Month with his play which saw him post a 1.33 GAA and 5-1-0 record.

The Tauros Zacher will face his brother veteran Bruin Walter Zacher who has a team high seven goals.  Austin Salani leads the Bruins with 13 total points on four goals and nine assists.  In goal Ethan Robertson and Trent Wiemken have split time despite Robertson posting a .950 SV5 to Wiemken’s .902.

The Tauros went 8-4-0 against the Bruins last season and are 8-2-0 against the over the last 10 meetings in Minot.  Trevor Stachowiak had three goals and six assists against the Bruins last year to lead all scorers in the series.
