Weekend Preview 12-2-22

Dec 2, 2022

Austin, MN – The Minotauros head to Austin to take on the first place Bruins in a pair of games Friday and Saturday night.  The Tauros opened the month of November tied with the Bruins for first place, but went just 0-2-2 over four games against Austin to open the month.  Meanwhile the Bruins have been red hot in climbing to the top of the division going 9-1-1 over their last 11 games.

The Tauros have bounced back since facing Austin going 3-1-0 combined against St. Cloud and Bismarck.  The offense has sprung to life with 15 goals over the four games which is nearly double the eight goals the Tauros scored in their four games against Austin last month.  Hunter Longhi continues to lead the Tauros with 24 total points on eight goals and 16 helpers, both are team highs. Jan-Kasper Bergman is the only Tauro with two goals against the Bruins this year.

The Bruins meanwhile have been dominant posting 3.27 goals-per-game which ranks fifth while allowing a fourth ranked 2.18.  Walter Zacher, older brother of the Tauros Lawton Zacher, leads the Bruins with 10 goals.  His 19 points are second on the team behind Austin Salani’s 20.

As always fans will be able to tune into the games on the Minotauros Network.  The game can be watched on HockeyTV or fans can listen to free audio broadcasts on the Tauros Facebook page, Mixlr, gotauros.com, or in the Tauros Hockey App.  The Farmers Union Pregame show will start at 6:50 p.m., 15 minutes before puck drop.
